Advance Learning Partnership is a not-for-profit Multi Academy Trust consisting of a mix of Primary and Secondary academies. With academies throughout County Durham, they work together to ensure that all children, irrespective of their starting point, receive an excellent education.

The challenge

During a particularly tough period, ALP Multi Academy Trust encountered significant heating issues at Whitworth Park. These issues severely impacted their ability to provide a comfortable learning environment for students. The trust required an urgent and effective response to restore essential heating and hot water services to maintain operational continuity.

Our solution

ODIN Services Ltd responded immediately when the trust reached out for emergency assistance. From the initial call on Saturday through to the early hours of the morning in the days following, our dedicated team worked tirelessly to resolve the heating issues. We arranged for a temporary oil boiler to be delivered to the site. Our team then made the necessary adjustments to the pipework in the plant room to connect the new temporary boiler. Working through the night, we ensured the boiler was fully operational and successfully restored heating to the school. This meant the school could open, and children could return to their education with minimal disruption. All the while, we were also working tirelessly behind the scenes to arrange for a more permanent, energy efficient solution that will stand the test of time.

Our efforts were acknowledged in an email from the Head of Estates and Sustainability at The Trust, titled ‘Thank you is not enough’, which expressed immense gratitude for the dedication and hard work of our team. The message highlighted the significant challenges faced and praised the ODIN team for their unwavering support, innovative problem-solving, and commitment to ensuring minimal disruption to students and staff.

  • Future-proofing: Installing new permanent plant and equipment in the following weeks, ensuring future-proofing of the site.
