Christ Church New Seaham

  1. History

Christ Church New Seaham is located in the Easington Deanery of the Diocese of Durham, it is a grade II listed 19th century church (1857).

  1. Why?

ODIN Services were contacted by the church committee to carry out a routine inspection of the gas fired boiler and plant room / heating equipment. Following the planned maintenance it had been identified that the current set up was inefficient meaning the church had higher than necessary fuel bills due to the age and condition of the existing equipment.

  1. What did we do?

The committee appointed ODIN Services to install a new boiler and plant room set up. Due to funds the church could not afford to replace the full system at the time so opted for a boiler replacement only. ODIN Services sourced and installed a plate heat exchanger alongside the new gas fired condensing boiler , this meaning the old water from the existing radiators and pipework could not contaminate and cause issues with the new boiler therefore prolonging the life expectancy. The plant room where the boiler was installed was fitted with a new door and new ventilation to bring up to standards.
